InfoPol Project

Political actors receive a great amount of information every day. The aim of the InfoPol research project is to lay bare the processing of this information by individual politicians. How do they decide what information to select, to what information do they pay attention and what information requires their political action?

The research will be conducted in three countries: Belgium, Israel and Canada. These countries are chosen because of the differences in their political system, like the degree of federalism, and the size of parliaments.

The project leader of the InfoPol research is Stefaan Walgrave, full professor at the University of Antwerp. The team of the Infopol project includes scholars from University of Antwerp (Belgium), the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Israel), the McGill University and the University of Toronto (Canada).
